Fall

Zoffany Tour
JASNA will be enjoying a tour of Johan Zoffany's works with our
wonderful tour guide and member Patricia Carr at the Yale Center for
British Art in New Haven on Sunday, November 13 at 1:30 p.m. The cost
of the tour is free, but registrations are required. Please email us to reserve a spot.  

Our annual Jane Austen Birthday Tea will be held on Sunday, December 4 at 2 p.m. at the Crowne Plaza in Cromwell. The speaker will be Ingrid
Graff, and the topic will be Northanger Abbey. Please save the date;
our mailing goes out soon.

Elections

Elections for JASNA CT officers will be held at the tea. Claire Smith
will be resigning as Regional Co-Coordinator, and we are looking for people who might like to take on that job.  We're also looking for someone to work with Bev Smith to deposit
our checks.  Please email Sara Zagorski with your name if you are interested in running for either of these positions.  We would love to have you, and we need your help to plan and execute all our wonderful programs.  Please also join me in thanking Claire for her years of
service to JASNA CT. We will see her often at events!

Charles Dickens celebrates 200!

We know some of our members also love Charles Dickens so we wanted to
make you aware of an event sponsored by the Ridgefield Library.  They
will be sponsoring a bus tour to the Morgan Museum in NYC to see the
Charles Dickens exhibit there on Friday, January 20.  The cost of the
trip is $40, $35 for seniors over 65, and registration is open to all.
 Registration will open in early to mid November from the Ridgefield
website at http://www.ridgefieldlibrary.org/ - I plan to be checking
in often in November to get my reservation in; hope some of you can
join us for this fun day.

September: Discussions of Jane's letters (use Dierdre Le Faye's edition; available Amazon $9.95 and at libraries everywhere!)

December: Jane's birthday tea on the first Sunday in December (December 2)
